Polly

Polly’s passion and greatest talent lies in her dance and her acting, and her Award enabled her to take her place on the ‘Foundation in Acting for Stage + Screen Performance (full time)’ course at Mountview, Peckham, from September 2019.

Updates from Polly

Polly says:

“I am overjoyed to have been selected to receive this award and incredibly grateful for it. Because of it, I am now able to fund my further training in theatre at Mountview School, to hopefully pursue a future in acting for screen! Thank you so much for allowing me to follow my dreams, I am thrilled.”

Updates from Polly

February 2023

Polly played the role of antagonist Benvolia in her latest show Romeo and Juliet.

Polly says "The show was a huge success, and most importantly, we had a blast creating it- it's a shame the run was so short. I was fortunate to have a dance solo in the piece as the director often works with dancers and likes to create plays rooted in musicality."

We awarded Polly money to allow her to complete her final year at Mountview

Polly says:

"I am an aspiring actor in training and I was lucky enough to to be granted a place on the BA Acting course at Mountview Academy of theatre arts in Peckham in 2019 and I have been training there for the past few years, thanks to the generosity of The Starr Trust. Having trained in ballet and sung my entire life I am thrilled to be pursuing my dreams of becoming an actor at this fantastic school and refining my craft. It is incredibly exciting to be going into my final year of training before entering into the industry and this has all been made achievable through the kindness and support of the Starr Trust.

I am thrilled to have been given this award, the Starr Trust have made my dreams of drama school training a reality! Accessibility to this brilliant drama school was out of reach for me and my family financially, but the Starr Trust has supported me through my training and I am beyond grateful, it is an absolute honour."

May 2022

Polly has had a very busy term at Mountview but some exciting work has emerged from it; her most recent production this Christmas was of Shakespeare’s ‘Measure for Measure’ where she played Isabella (photo below). Sadly the performance was cancelled after six weeks of rehearsal on the day of the show due to an outbreak of covid.

She is now about to move into her next project, Laura Wade’s recent play ‘The Watsons’ based on Jane Austen’s unfinished novel of the same name, where she will be playing Laura Wade!
