Volunteers are incredibly important to us at the Starr Trust
With such a small team we rely on the help of dedicated volunteers to run our events, keep us organised and generally lend a hand. Whether you can give us regular help or just the odd hour here and there, your support is invaluable. We strive to make our volunteers feel like part of the team and we’re always developing new ways to say thanks.
We’re always looking to get our name and brand out into the local community – to attract new applicants for our scholarships and to find new audiences for our events. If you’re good with social media, are a design genius or are brilliant on the phone come and help us spread the word.
Photographers, film makers and computer geeks are always welcome! We run events all year round which need documenting, so if you want to expand your portfolio as a budding David Bailey or Stephen Spielberg, drop us a line.
We run all sorts of events and there are always a million jobs to do to help them run smoothly. Maybe you could help us serve food, sell raffle tickets or help with the set up? We always have a lot of fun and it’s a great way to meet new people.
Getting out and meeting the general public is a big part of what we do, and at all our events we have our yellow buckets, ready to accept change. We always need people to be a bucket bearer – it may be a simple job, but it’s a huge part of our fundraising and brings in a lot of money to support young people.
