Artemii is a competitive freestyle skier who hopes to compete in the 2024 Youth Olympic Games in South Korea. Unfortunately the training and preparation requires facilities not available in England, making training too expensive for his family to afford. We awarded Artemii with the funds to attend training camps in Austria.
Artemii says:
“I couldn't believe that I had received this opportunity and I can’t find the words for how grateful I am. A couple weeks before receiving the news I was told that I was on the long-list for the 2024 Youth Olympics. I knew that without any support it would be near impossible to get the right preparation and I believe that with the Starr Trust’s help, hard work and dedication I will be able to represent my country at the Youth Olympics and achieve my dreams.”
Artemii says:
"The ski season is coming to an end and I wanted to say that it has been one of the best thanks to your support. It has been my most progressive and successful season so far. I have competed in three international competitions including a FIS cup competition and 2 World Rookie Tour events. On the first of March I won England's first ever World rookie tour event at the Snozone Milton Keynes and qualified for the World rookie tour finals in Madonna di Campiglio, Italy where I managed to place top 10 amongst some of the best skiers from all over the world.
Next week I am flying out to Livigno, Italy for the Junior World Championships which is the biggest event in my career so far. I wouldn't have been able to get to this stage without the Starr Trust's support so I wanted to say a massive thank you for what you have helped me achieve."
Artemii says "I had a great time in Austria and finished 5th overall and 1st for my age at an international slopestyle competition. This would not be possible without your support, and I want to thank you very much."
