Wish Upon a Christmas Starr raises over £3200

Last Christmas Wish upon a Christmas Starr truly captured the Christmas spirit in a wonderful evening of festive musical numbers. The event which was held at, and kindly donated by, the Hilton Brighton Metropole, starred the wonderful Starr Trust Patron and gold medallist Olympian Robin Cousins and the fabulous West End star Bonnie Langford, who took time out of their busy schedules to perform at this fundraising event. The show also featured the talented Starr Trust singers, directed by Sharon Starr and accompanied by Simon Gray and Josh Winstone.The cast entertained with a host of Christmas favourites like White Christmas and Fairytale of New York; Bonnie and Robin sang a duet (“Baby, It’s Cold Outside”) and Bonnie wowed the audience with her version of “Santa Baby”. The cast also performed a side-splitting version of “The Twelve Days of Christmas” – Brighton style!!Auction prizes included tickets to hit West End shows Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Billy Elliott, a stay at the prestigious Drakes Hotel Brighton and a Swag Bag from the last Torville and Dean’s Ice Tour donated by Robin Cousins. Streamline Taxis sponsored the evening, with flowers and champagne donated by Tesco Church Road, Waitrose Western Road and Hove Flowers.Fun was had by all and the evening raised an impressive £3210 which will go towards championing young people in the BN post code area.
