Winter Musical Extravaganza Raises £18,878

7th December 2015We kicked off the festive season on November 28th with our ‘Winter Musical Extravaganza’; a fabulous show, a delicious 3-course dinner and late night disco. These two magical fundraising evenings were held at the Hilton Brighton Metropole and the sold out weekend saw 425 guests attend, helping to raise an astonishing £18,878 for young people in Sussex. Saturday night welcomed Starr Trust supporters all dressed to impress and Sunday night hosted the Sussex Rock Choir Ball, who sang a jubilant ‘Hold My Hand’ by Jess Glynne to the cast!The beautiful Viscount Suite, donated by the Hilton, was the perfect backdrop to these glittering evenings. Music was provided by the talented Starr Trust Singers, directed by Sharon Starr and featuring the multitalented Gold Medallist, singer and patron, Robin Cousins. Guests were entertained with a fabulous show, with songs from the Blues Brothers, Abba and Queen getting everyone up on their feet and singing along.Starr Trust Events Manager Tracey said, “What an incredible weekend! The Hilton venue glittered and sparkled with candelabra and Christmas reindeer. We were so lucky to have both events sponsored by SEICO Mortgages and as ever the Hilton exceeded all expectations with their superb staff and service. Everyone had a fantastic time and the Hilton generously added an extra £5000 towards helping one of our Champions. We couldn’t be happier.”The community supported the event with prizes donated by Hilton Brighton Metropole, Living Well Spa, Ashdown Park Hotel, Shadi Danin Spa, Uniquely Organic, Grand Hotel Spa, Flowers Unlimited and Clarins of Debenhams Brighton which raised over £4000.
