On September 27th over 130 of our supporters took to the sunny skies of Brighton in the BAi360 which was kindly donated to celebrate the Starr Trust’s 10th birthday. This special day in the calendar was chosen as it was the late Edward Starr’s birthday. He was the inspiration for our charity and sadly died back in 2006. Two years later his son Rob Starr founded the Starr Trust, along with his sister Tracey and other family members, as a tribute to their father. The afternoon saw young Champions and their families, Trustees and Patrons of the charity plus local businesses such as The Implant Centre, the Hilton Brighton Metropole, Nick Taylor from Healy’s Law and Crunch Accounting, all come together to celebrate the Starr Trust’s achievements over the past decade.Rob Starr told us “The Starr Trust has gone from strength to strength over the past 10 years and I’m proud to say we have helped many thousands of young people in this city to fulfil their potential and be the best they can be. We are very much a part of the Brighton community and couldn’t carry out the important work we do without the help of so many local people and businesses. They really go the extra mile through event sponsorship, becoming a partner or signing up to our latest Champion a Champion scheme and we are always so grateful for their support. We hope our next 10 years will see us champion even more young people in our wonderful city”.Photos by Graham Franks.
