We were delighted with the success of our ninth charity Golf Day, held on May 16th at the prestigious Mannings Heath Golf and Wine Estate and which raised an incredible £6,300 to help young people in Sussex.72 golfers from local businesses came together to enjoy a fantastic day out and a great chance to network. The day kicked off with bacon rolls on the outdoor terrace followed by a shotgun start on the beautiful 18-hole course. To add to the fundraising fun, golfers were able to buy string ‘Mulligans’ where they could move their golf ball the length of the string. There were also a variety of competitions throughout the day and the weather was superb. The event was kindly organised by Paul Maidment who helped make the day run like clockwork. Thanks go out to our main sponsors IEP Financial, Gardner & Scardifield, Beales and Airsprung, also Gemini Print without whom we could not have put on this event.Awards were given out, bids were made on fantastic auction prizes and a delicious carvery dinner was served to finish off.The winning team was Sam Hickmott’s with runners up Alan Pook followed by Tom Humphries. The winning individual was Stuart Dan with Rick Simpson taking 2nd place and winning Nearest the Pin.Our event organiser Rosie Molloy told us “as ever we are incredibly grateful for everyone’s support and delighted at how much money we managed to raise. The staff at Mannings Heath deserve a massive thanks as they really went above and beyond to make the day run smoothly”.Big thanks also to our lovely photographer Jim Browning. If you’d like to sign up for next year’s Golf Day (which will be our 10th!) then email rosie@starrtrust.com.[caption id="attachment_1446" align="alignnone" width="300"]
