Spinathon Raises Over £1700

17th March 2016HUGE thanks to all who came along to our Spinathon on Saturday where we raised a whopping £1705 for ourselves and The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. Our popular annual Spinathon took place at Virgin Active Brighton on Saturday March 12th where Hurstpierpoint resident Nadia Bushell and her family were raising money for the The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and the Starr Trust. The event ran from 8.30am-5.30pm with lots of raffles and fun prizes throughout the day and non-members of the sports club that attended were able to use all the facilities for free. Hundreds of people came along and joined in the hourly spin sessions which made the day a huge success.Nadia from Hurstpierpoint, whose young daughter was diagnosed with cancer in 2014, wanted to find a way of thanking The Royal Marsden for their amazing support at such a difficult time and decided to team up with the Starr Trust for the second year running. All the proceeds from the event went to the Starr Trust and The Oak Centre for Children and Young People, based at The Royal Marsden in Sutton.Special thanks go out to staff at Santander UK George Street, Hove and Shoreham; Virgin Active UK, Falmer, Spin Instructors – Fran, Lynn, Wendy, H and Ed; Claire Clements; Nadia, Simon and Daisy Bushnell.
