Our Trustee Michael Jacobs raised a whopping £11,500 when he and his brother cycled from London to Paris to raise money for the Starr Trust.Michael freely admits to being way outside his comfort zone when he began this incredible 240 mile journey at the beginning of October. His training for this event consisted of a couple of spin classes at his local sports club and prior to this the farthest he had cycled was only 10 miles!Michael has been a Trustee with the Starr Trust for 8 months and describes this challenge as by far the hardest he has ever undertaken. He says “I wanted to do something for this fantastic and incredibly positive charity and I decided that it needed to be something big, so hauling my considerable bulk all the way to Paris seemed just the ticket. I’m so grateful to all my sponsors and really hope that I can help to inspire others to take up a challenge for this great charity”.All the money raised will support young people between 10 – 18 in the BN postcode area to help them achieve their goals, in sports, arts or education at a time when they need it most. It’s not too late to send a donation – Michael says “please dig deep, if not for the charity, just think about the poor bike!”If you would like to donate to Michael’s Just Giving page, you can do so here
