Jazz on the Prom raises over £2,500 for us!Last weekend, 15-16 June, an exciting and brand new event took place on Brighton seafront, created by Brighton Beach Club and the BAi360.Jazz on the Prom saw musicians of all ages from across Brighton and Sussex come together to entertain locals and visitors alike at this free 2-day event and we were their chosen charity. In between the i360 and the Brighton Beach Club visitors were welcomed into a wonderful relaxing space of deckchairs and a Prosecco Bar where they could while away the hours listening to bands like the Sussex Jazz Orchestra or Dave Williams’ band, take to the dance floor for an afternoon of swing with Brighton Lindy Hoppers or sing along to the dulcet tones of The Rock Choir. Over 25 acts gave their time for free and there really was something for everyone to enjoy with such an eclectic group of brilliant musicians. We’re very grateful to lots of local businesses who helped make the weekend such a success with Brighton Beach Club donating £1000, HSBC price matching donations, Gemini Print printing banners for free and the nearby Upside Down House donating 5% of their weekend takings. The i360 also provided a percentage of their bar sales and free refreshments for the Starr Trust team of staff and volunteers who helped run the event. Thanks also to BN1 security, Brighton Council, Deck Chairs donated by deck chair Steve on the beach, James Wright who supplied all sound equipment and to the amazing sound engineer Abe from Rinn Records.
