On Saturday 7 September 2013, Connor Lovejoy and a group of his friends ran a tag Marathon around Hove Park to raise money for a local charity.The Starr Trust, who raise money to help local young people fulfil their potential in sport art and education, had previously given Connor an award to enable him to fulfil his ambition to go to Brit School. Connor decided to organise this run to give something back to the Trust.Luckily, the weather stayed fine, if a little windy and Connor and the team completed their Marathon of 20 laps around the park in just over 3 hours raising more than £300!Starr Trust Operations Director Mel Perry said; “We are so grateful to Connor and his friends for raising this fantastic amount of money, and for giving so much back to the Starr Trust. Connor has been a great supporter of ours since we helped with his funding – he really is a champion!”Along with Connor were his brothers Carl and Richard, Jacob Raven, Charlie Bush, Michael Tasker, Hector Mitchell-Turner , Georgia Coleshill, Maria Weller, Chay Webber and Chay’s friends, George and Charlie.The Starr Trust supports and raises money for individuals aged 10 – 18 living in the BN postal code area to fulfil their potential in sports, arts and education.
