Charity Bikes Made in Sussex!

Christmas came early this year for 30 young people from across Sussex who received brand new bicycles built by a unique collaboration between the us and local businesses O3e and Hewlett Packard.O3e run philanthropic team-building events and one of these brings employees together to make bicycles in a ‘charity bike build’. When the challenge is completed, the company, in this instance Hewlett Packard, then donates the bikes they have created to charity.On November 23rd hundreds of HP employees worked together and created, from scratch, 30 brand new bikes. They donated 20 of these to a local school for children with special needs. The Cedar Centre had tragically had dozens of their bikes stolen. They also donated 10 bikes to the Starr Trust to give to the children we support.Our Champions Rep Mel said “We were delighted to be chosen by Hewlett Packard who made and donated 10 bikes and accessories worth over £3000 from their team building day. We gave these bikes to our Champions who were absolutely thrilled. The bikes were beautifully made and the Champions were so excited to ride them. We are really grateful to 03e for choosing to donate to us and thankful to Brown’s Bikes and James Wright at Streamline Taxis, for getting the bikes ready to ride and then delivering them”.Peter Lindsay, founder of 03e said “All of us at O3e are delighted that we were able to create an opportunity for so many young people, we hope that the addition of a new bike will help them in developing a great future for themselves”.
