Champions' Corner: a behind-the-scenes look at our fantastic Edward Starr Champions

It’s been an exciting few weeks for the Edward Starr Champions, with not one but THREE major successes in the field of sports… Champion Alicia has finished top of the South East Leaderboard in tennis, whilst over in Surrey, Ira’s team, the LEAP under 18s, won the Hoop Dreams tournament at ACS Cobham. Meanwhile, 2012 Champion, runner Stephen Ferroni wowed spectators as he beat 265 other runners to come 5th in the National Cross-Country Championships. We were very proud to see our latest 3 Champions - Alicia, Ira and Jamie - all feature in the Argus’ ‘Youth in Action’. And if you happen to be at London Olympia on 8 March, you can watch the fabulous Jamie Spall perform with Tap Attack as part of dance industry event ‘Move It’. Keep up the impressive work, guys! Here at the Starr Trust we’re just starting to work through the applications that have come in for the next round of funding. It’s inspiring to see so many young people from across the region explain their commitment to fulfilling their potential and we are really looking forward to giving some of them a helping hand. Watch this space over the next month to find out more about our new set of Champions…As ever, please get in touch with awards@starrtrust.com if you’d like to apply for an Edward Starr Award or would like further information about our work.
