An update on our Champions - Summer 2014

All of our Champions have been busy recently- throwing themselves into the activities that they feel passionate about and proving their dedication and commitment in a huge variety of fields.We’ve been lucky enough to receive some lovely updates from some of the Champions and their families which we wanted to share with you.Performer Jessie-Jae is in the middle of her exams at the moment, but feeling positive about them and looking forward to taking part in the annual K-Bis end of year show in July. Members of the Trust team are excited to have some tickets to go and watch- more on this soon!Meanwhile, dancer Samantha has been cast as one of the principal roles in Tring Parks School for Performing Arts’ senior dance show which is a phenomenal achievement.Over on the basketball courts, Ira is gearing up to fly over to the USA for a summer to attend a camp and tournament at Eckerd College, Florida. We can’t wait to hear how he gets on. Ira is also the star of our short Starr Trust promo film (below).One of our newer Champions, Harrison, has recently shared his photography archive with us and we think he’s incredibly talented. See for yourself here.The other big story is that runner Stephen Ferroni has been nominated for the Argus’ Sports Personality of the Year award! This in itself is a fantastic achievement and we are looking forward to seeing how he gets on at the ceremony on 8th June.In other news, the Starr Trust’s Funding Team is now looking forward to its next meeting where members will discuss the 14 new applications that have been received for this round. We’ll be announcing the new Champions by the end of June so do keep an eye on the website!
