A New Home is found for Champion’s Corner

A new home has been found for the Starr Trust’s gorgeous shed, affectionately known as ‘Champion’s Corner’.The shed, which had been donated to the Starr Trust by Wickes in Hove, and was lovingly transformed by the team for Brighton’s Big Screen event, was won in an auction by a family who had attended the charity’s Kids’ Scene event at the Big Screen in August.Operations Director Mel Perry said “We had so many enquiries asking what we were doing with the shed after the Big Screen, that we decided to put it up for auction. We were delighted that it went to a lovely family in Heathrow, who have turned it into a playhouse for their children, Jieya and Jievyn. We were sad to see it go, but so pleased it went to a lovely new home. It was great fun trying to fit the shed into the back of the van in one piece – but we did it!”

New owner, Kam, had seen the shed at the Starr Trust’s Kids’ Scene and her children fell in love with it. When she heard it was being auctioned, she set her heart on winning it for her children to play in the garden.

The Starr Trust raised £725 at the event, which will help the charity to support local children as part of their Change 4 Champions campaign.
